Our small vineyards, some of them already centuries-old, offer us supreme quality in very limited productions. Each of our vineyards has a history of many grape harvests producing grapes with exceptional characteristics.
Our vineyards are worked and harvested exclusively by hand. Manual harvesting guarantees a selective collection, only at the optimum ripening point of the fruit.
Just as there are no two equal bunches , neither are the vintages identical. Each harvest has its own attributes and these are reflected in every glass of Lar Ricobao. That is why each year we decide the type of wine that we want to craft depending on the grape that we have harvested.
In 2013 we saw that the Grenache grape was exceptional. We decided to make a monovarietal wine that showed all that this wonderful grape can offer.
Mencía grapes also played a special role, combined with other varieties from the area (mouratón, merenzao). From this combination we obtained the SELECTION DO VAL and SELECTION OF VAL 10 LUNES. A plurivarietal that rested ten lunar cycles in oak barrels.
In 2013 we made a Godello grape wine and a Godello Barrica. In the harvest of 2014 we made a plurivarietal directly crafted in oak barrels, GOLD DO VAL.
LAR DE RICOBAO takes a long time before we launch our wines into market. And they are different every year. Only in this way can we offer you a wine, bottled when it offers its maximum expression of flavor.
